Captain Michael Avinon, a fifth generation Floridian, has been fishing in Florida his whole life. He started off as a first mate in the Florida keys, then moved to Naples in 1992 and began his career as a charter captain. Over the years he’s won numerous tournaments and also holds six world records that are still currently unbroken. Gaining popularity in Florida as a captain has led him to appear in multiple fishing television shows, including Captains Tales, Sportsman’s Adventures with Captain Rick Murphy, Real Animals with Captain Mike Anderson, and most recently with Captain Blair Wiggins. He has also had multiple appearances on Florida Insider Fishing report as well.

This guy is the best hands down! Extremely knowledgable and down to earth. You wana catch great fish and have fun? This is the guy! He was relentless in getting us to the best spots and making sure we all caught fish, which we did. Once we got to a spot where he said we should hit some grouper, we were non stop on the rods n reels! It was amazing. Within a matter of seconds we were catching red grouper! (Literally dropped the bait in and felt a bite). By the way, he started the day by catching live bait for us which made a HUGE difference! He truly made this an experience to remember and we’ve been fishing for years in Florida and all over Michigan.

Undoubtedly the best charter captain we have fished with and we’ve been doing this for 30+ years in many parts of the world. Mike has exceptional knowledge of the area, a superbly equipped and very fast boat and a real desire to please his clients. Out this week for a session where we fished several marks and caught a great variety of fish, some of which made it to the dinner table. He can ‘smell’ good fishing spots and will move if sites are no producing bites.

Took my 16 year old grandson for a 1/2 day charter with Captain Mike and had one the most rewarding with Colin. We first targeted red grouper and snapper and kept very busy catching almost non stop. We got our limit of red grouper that ranged from 23″ to 26″ and released a whole lot more. We then went after gag grouper and Colin quickly had a big gag hooked but before he could get it to the boat a large goliath decided to battle him for it and the goliath won when it got back to the wreck. Mike then went to another location and on the first drop Colin had another gag on and won the battle with a 28″ gag. What a wonderful day. Mike did a great job for us and we will never forget the the great time together. I highly recommend Captain Mike and the Findictive.
